Swiss Miss Royalty 2011

The Midway Boosters are pleased to introduce this year’s Swiss Miss Royalty.  The Swiss Miss pageant was held March 26, where five new representatives of Midway were chosen.  These young ladies will act as hostesses for Midway’s annual Swiss Days celebration on the Midway Town Square September 2nd and 3rd.  The Swiss Miss will also perform at public events such as Wasatch County Fair Days, Swiss Days and Swiss Christmas. 

Anna Snow, Swiss Miss 2011:  Daughter of Kevin and Tara Snow
            Anna is the youngest in her family and has three older sisters.  She has been clogging for 7 years and has been on the National Jr. All-American team.  Anna enjoys playing the piano, snow skiing and sewing.  She loves to bake all sorts of treats and hopes to open her own cupcake shop someday.  She is an accomplished student whose favorite subject is science.  Anna has a lively personality and a good sense of humor. She is honored to serve as this year’s Swiss Miss and is enjoying sharing the responsibilities and experiences with her new friends.

Emily Rasband, Attendant:  Daughter of Jeff and Heather Rasband           
Emily has two sisters, one annoying brother and one cute baby brother.  Her passion in life is playing the violin.  This past year Emily has had the privilege of playing and performing with the Utah Valley Youth Symphony.  She is also a member of the Gifted and Talented Education program in her school and despite the rigorous academia Emily maintains an A average.  Emily has a spunky personality and a smile that will brighten anyone's day.  Midway is Emily's favorite place because of the beautiful mountains and nice people.

Jessica Stagg, Attendant:  Daughter of Dan and Cindy Stagg
With a love for music, Jessica has played the piano for six years and plays the violin in her school orchestra. She has even written an original composition. She loves anything by the Beatles and has been known to rock out with her dad and little brother, Jamison, to everything from Queen to Van Halen.  Jessica is a straight-A student and hopes to be an architect one day. She has her sights set on attending BYU-Hawaii, where her grandfather is a teacher.  She is enjoying her duties as a Swiss Miss attendant, and is thrilled to be representing Midway along with her new friends.

Sarah Mair, Attendant:  Daughter of Jason and Jenny Mair
Sarah has two sisters, one older, Nadia, and one younger, Hannah.  She loves animals and has a pet rabbit, Buddy.  Sarah also loves horses and wants to learn to ride and take care of them.  She loves swimming and is on the Gold Swim Team.  Sarah loves reading books, playing with her friends, singing, dancing, piano, parties, and watching movies with her family.  Sarah is excited to represent Midway as one of the Swiss Miss this year.

Maya Jones, Attendant:  Daughter of Christian and Elise Jones
            Maya is excited to be a part of the Swiss Miss tradition by making new friends, being involved in the community, and appreciating her German heritage.  Maya thrives in the outdoors with her sister Brooke.  She loves living in Midway close to skiing, camping, horses, river trips and anything in between.  Maya has played soccer and danced for 7 years and is a member of Ballet Company.  She loves music, plays violin, ukulele, guitar, and sang in the Swiss Children’s Chorus.  Maya excels in academics and enjoyed serving on student council last year. 

While all of these young ladies have varied interests and talents, they share a love of community service. They helped hostess the annual Midway Fourth of July celebration, visited with the elderly at a local nursing home, performed at a program sponsored by the Senior Citizens Center and participated in other community service activities.  The Swiss Miss Court and their families are having a year full of great experiences and friendship and wish to thank the community for their support.
