SWISS MISS ROYALTY--2006
This year's pageant was held on April 22, where five new representatives of Midway were chosen. These young ladies will act as hostesses for Midway's annual Swiss Days. The Royalty have performed for the Relay for Life and Midway's 4th of July Sunrise Ceremony. They will also perform at Wasatch County Fair Days, Swiss Days, and Swiss Christmas.
Kati Murphy, Swiss Miss 2006: Daughter of George and Brinli Murphy.
Kati is thrilled to be representing Midway as this year's Swiss Miss. Kati loves living in Midway and has lived here for ten years. She is the oldest of 4 children, very compassionate and a good friend to everyone. Kati enjoys playing the piano, as well as, singing and dancing. She loves being with friends and family and playing soccer and snowboarding. Kati has been a model for the nationally acclaimed artist, Robert Duncan.
Kati is looking forward to all of the fun experiences she will have with other Swiss Miss girls.
Whitney Orgill, 1st Attendant: Daughter of Bryan and Shaurelle Orgill.
Whitney is 10 years old and in the 4th grade. She has lived in Midway for almost 2 years. She is the oldest of three children. Whitney is an excellent student and she is a good, kind=hearted friend to everyone she meets. Whitney has been playing soccer for 5 years and loves it. She is currently on a competition team in Orem. Her other hobbies include clogging, tumbling, and playing the piano. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends, riding bikes, and rollerblading.
She is a good example and a great help at home. She is excited about the Swiss Miss opportunities ahead of her.
Linzie Hills, Attendant: Daughter of Dal and Brenda Hills.
Linzie is the 7th of eight children. She loves coming from a big family because there is always someone to do something with. She is ten yours old and an honor student. She will be in the 6th grade next year. Linzie loves to stay busy and she's good at it. She is involved with dance, singing, and piano. Athletically, she stays busy with club soccer, tumbling, softball, and skiing.
Linzie has a cheerful personality and can often be found helping someone in need. She enjoys spending time with her family and many friends.
Madison Kieffer, Attendant: Daughter of Kameron and Shauna Kieffer.
Madison is 11 years old and the oldest of 5 children. She is wonderfully responsible and will take on any challenge. She has a passion for learning and reading and has read over 2000 books. She is an honor student at Soldier Hollow Charter School and competes on the Soldier Hollow Ski team. Madison enjoys playing the piano, tumbling, swim-team, and ice skating, dancing, and theatre.
Madison is compassionate and optimistic and feels being involved in the Swiss Miss Royalty is an honor.
Tilia Law, Attendant: Daughter of Varlin and Carla Law.
Talia Anne Law has lived in Midway since she was 3 months old. She is the second child in a family of six. She is an honor student at Midway Elementary. She lover swimming, basketball, softball, and soccer. Her two hero's are her Dad, a cancer survivor, and her Grandpa who pitched for the Pittsburg Pirates in the 1960 World Series. Talia loves Midway and is excited to represent it in this year's Swiss Miss Royalty.
Her best quality is the ability to make friends and she would love to meet people as she shares the beauty of Midway to all who visit here.
These young ladies stay busy, not only individually and as ambassadors for the city of Midway during Swiss Days, but they also partake of several opportunities to give service.
The Royalty recently had the opportunity to welcome the public for the Plein Air Art Competition sponsored by Midways Artist Association. Whether they are visiting a local nursing home or doing a project for the Children's Justice Center, they are sure to be spotted happily serving the community.
The Swiss Miss Royalty and their families are appreciative to the community for their support and are grateful for the memorable opportunities they will continue to experience.
